Function of the appointed specialized personnel:

– Waste management expert
– Project assistant specializing in hazardous waste management

Project Description:

Since 2011, no waste treatment facility has been in operation in Tunisia. Current waste management suffers from insufficient treatment infrastructure, as Jradou and the CETs face social acceptance problems among the local population. It appears that the Jradou center has neither the capacity nor the adequate infrastructure to process all types of waste currently in circulation.
In response to this critical situation, the demand for the creation of companies processing this type of waste has become a major need. It is within this framework that the project to establish a special industrial waste treatment unit at the El Fahes industrial zone to collect waste from Greater Tunis (the governorates of Tunis, Ariana, Ben Arous, and Manouba) and the Sahel (Sousse, Monastir, and Mahdia) is part of this project. ICP Environmental Consulting was approached by Valis to conduct a technical and economic feasibility study for the creation of a special industrial waste collection, transportation, and treatment unit. Valis would like to begin processing (DIS) in order to determine whether the project would be profitable, whether it is technically feasible, and whether the company has the resources (financial, skills, etc.) to implement it.
