Project Description:
The Nabeul controlled landfill site has suffered several disasters caused by overuse. The waste is highly organic and has a high water content. Furthermore, the drainage system installed at the bottom of the sites is not effective enough. This has led to horizontal migration and leachate runoff to the surface of the storage area, which has exceeded the stability limits of the dikes. The extent of the damage must be assessed and plans must be made to improve the quality of vertical drainage through the sites and redesign the safety devices.
The consulting firm ICP Environmental Consulting was hired to conduct a diagnostic assessment of the landfill site and propose corrective and improvement solutions.
Description of services provided by ICP:
– Site inspection of the Nabeul landfill site.
– Data collection and analysis.
– Diagnostic and visual assessment of civil engineering and geotechnical infrastructure (condition of the operating area, condition of the storage areas, condition of the buildings, condition of the roads, utilities, etc.).

– Quantitative and qualitative assessment of the waste and projection based on the capacity of the structures.
– Landslide assessment.
– Proposals for solutions and recommendations, and an action plan to prevent further landslides and to correct the damage caused by the landslide.
